Review: The Stenders Wild Rose Gentle Facial Exfoliator

Stenders Wild Rose Review

A beautiful pink, to brighten up any bathroom counter top.

If you take great care of your skin, you’ll know its behaviours. Like when it needs a good moisturising treat, or when it needs a good scrubbing down. Normally, when it starts to look dull and uneven when you scrutinise it, you’ll know it’s time to do something on top of the normal cleansing and moisturising.

The best way to reveal radiance immediately is to use a good facial scrub. I gave the Stenders Wild Rose Gentle Facial Exfoliator a try and found it to be quite a pleasant experience.

Stenders is a brand hailing all the way from exotic Latvia. It was launched in 2001 when the founders had an idea for home-made soap using ancient Latvian knowledge and natural ingredients. Granted, the Gentle Facial Exfoliator isn’t only made of natural ingredients but it does contain plant extracts.

The texture of the exfoliator is thick and it looks kind of like a translucent gel shampoo with micro bits in it. I call them micro bits because they are really tiny; they are so small that you hardly feel them unless you start to massage the product on your skin. These tiny bits are actually walnut shell powder, and are thus biodegradable and won’t harm the environment (unlike microbeads, which aren’t biodegradable and end up in oceans).

The Gentle Facial Exfoliator smells really uplifting and floral, but nothing like bandung. It does moisturise the skin well and doesn’t make you feel like you’re mistreating your skin with the scrub bits. I like it as a gentle weekly or twice-weekly exfoliator. Also, you’ve got to admit that it does look nice near the sink!
