If you’re with the right partner, every day is Valentine’s Day. But that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate 14th February if you wanted to either. For us, it’s really another excuse to gift each other with something special and just block out time for each other. Maybe Valentine’s Day isn’t for you, and maybe it is, but for us it’s definitely a time we treasure and be thankful for having each other in our lives.

This year, I’ve also got Maryling to thank for making me look pretty in pastels during our brunch date at a restaurant by the Singapore bay area. It’s a brand hailing from Italy and I’m so in love with their flowy silk dresses, apart from the other unique pieces that they stock.

The great thing about this one I picked is that it is functional in so many ways. Not only is it made of 100% cultivated silk, but the prints are also gorgeous, you can wear it with or without a belt and it gives your skin space to breathe in the humid Singaporean weather. I decided to forego a belt because we were going to a burger place and because I seldom wear silhouettes like this. I mean, style is all about experimenting!

We had a fun time doing this shoot, even though the sun killed us somewhat. And I suppose you can tell from my facial expressions that I’ve never done jump shots in heels before. If you would like to find out how I created this shimmery daytime makeup look, you can head on over to my tutorial here. You can also subscribe to my YouTube channel.

But if you’re more inclined to find out where Maryling is located, you can find their pop-up store on the 3rd level of Takashimaya, in the women’s section, from now till 29th February. They carry a limited number of each piece, so that what you get is something unique, and their sizing ranges generally from an European 36 to 40. I’m normally a 32 or 34, but this size 38 dress fitted me just fine because of its loose structure.

If you do drop by the pop-up store, I hope you’ll find something you like in your size. It’s a major hit with tourists at the moment, what with the non-stop flow of satisfied customers during the 30 minutes I was there.

Happy shopping,

Roxanne
