    How to Wear Lavender

Ever have a colour that you avoid like the plague? Yep, I’m sure you do. For me, it’s orange – neon orange, to be exact but all shades of orange are a no-no. Maybe your no-shade is lavender. And this is why today’s post is all about how to wear lavender even when you don’t think you ever will.

As seen from the photos above, lavender is actually quite a wearable colour. It’s light enough to suit a pastels theme, and it can also be loud enough to fit a jewel-toned look. Here’s what you can do if you’ve got your heart on something of this shade:

    1. Wear it with white.

Lavender goes really well with white, as you can see. It can be a pair of jeans, a casual blazer or even a laced cropped top. Whatever it is, white sure adds on a relaxed feel to the entire look.

    2. Wear it with dark colours.

Something like navy, dark grey or black will work just fine as well. It adds contrast to your outfit, so the you don’t look so washed out. Something dark is perfect if you’re lighter elsewhere, such as your skin tone, or the whites you’re wearing as well.

    3. Denim works.

I love denim because of its versatility. It goes with almost anything and you can bet a lavender top will match it well too. Your denim can be in the form of dark blue jeans, a lighter moto jacket or even a pastel-coloured skirt. Here’s how I wore my lavender top with jeans and sparkly heels a while back.

    4. Play with nude pieces.

Nude coloured pieces, such as strappy heels, platforms, or even a handbag will go well with lavender. Even a scarf or statement necklace that is predominantly nude or beige can be worn.

    5. Mix and match with textures.

Metallic pieces or accessories will add some glam to your outfit. You might find it hard to own something metallic but look carefully in your stash and you’re bound to find it. Check your bags, jewellery, shades and even pullovers. Perhaps you have a brooch or two that would fit nicely on your white blazer, worn over your lavender top. You can even have lavender nails, like how I did with this shade from Nails Inc.
