    How to Get Healthy Hair

Golden goddesses we are not but we can definitely put in some effort when it comes to maintaining a headful of healthy hair.

Caring for your tresses isn’t necessarily a chore, even if you’ve got waist-length hair. All the Rapunzels out there may use more shampoo than others but these five steps below can be applied to everyone regardless of hair length. The best part? They’re actually pretty basic and easy to follow.

    1. Shampoo daily where necessary.

I know that not shampooing daily is kind of a trend right now but if you live near the equator like me – and Singapore is slated to be the hottest place on earth in 10 years, bless our poor souls – you’ll find that not washing your hair at least once every two days is going to give you an oily scalp. An oily scalp means that your pores are clogged with dirt and sebum, and new hair cannot grow to replace fallen ones. If this goes on for too long, you’ll start to find yourself balding.

    2. Use a clarifying shampoo.

A clarifying or deep cleansing shampoo should be used at least once a week. Massage this as near to your scalp as possible. This will remove any dirt not washed away by your shampoo. I personally like the Giovanni Golden Wheat Deep Cleanse Shampoo, but if you can find another one that has mint in it, it really helps you to feel invigorated after a shower. That’s always a welcome in the summer!

    3. Use a good conditioner.

I know I’ve always said I never had time for conditioners but after having my hair processed several times, hair oil alone is no longer sufficient. To maintain shine and strength in your hair, I highly recommended a good conditioner right after washing off your shampoo.
