Update on My Mario Badescu’s Healing Cream

by Roxanne C.

Remeber a couple of days ago when I got my Mario Badescu’s Healing Cream in the mail? Well, up till now, I’ve used it for only 3 times. But I’ve got bad news. If you’d like, my earlier post about the cream can be viewed here.

Sad to say, it didn’t work out for me. However, before I go on to say anything else about this cream, I have to let you know that my skin is very very very sensitive and doesn’t work well with like, 95% of products that I use, regardless of whether it’s facial foams, cleansers, pimple creams, serums, makeup or even sprays. I get pimples whenever my face gets into contact with ANYTHING, such as my bolster or hand for example. My skin is also allergic to alcohol so I can never use products that have “Cetyl Alcohol” or “Mistryl Alcohol” or any other kinds of alcohol. Below is my review of the cream after a usage of 3 times.

When I first used the cream, I did not have any allergic reaction to it. In fact, it seemed like a few spots on my forehead had started to lighten. So I used it for the night as well. However, I woke up this morning with red cheeks – where I’d applied the cream. I thought it might be the dust from my home’s current renovation works. I used it again this morning but it only made my skin even redder. That’s a sure sign of an allergic reaction. I quickly washed off the cream and put on my usual skin care routine, which is just my Dalacin T gel on spots and Clinique’s moisturisers (the eye and face ones) all over. It’s been a few hours but the redness has not subsided – It usually takes a day or two to completely disappear for my case.

So I’m sad that this product is not suited to my skin type. I’ll see how long it takes to heal. I am interested to sell it away, so if anyone of you want to get it a.s.a.p., you can contact me. I’ll definitely be selling it for cheaper (price is negotiable). Well, if I don’t manage to sell it, I can still use it for other parts of my body like redness caused by ingrown hairs.

*UPDATE* I’ve washed my face again and applied a product called Desowen. This is a lotion that helps to soothe skin irritations immediately. I need to get one before I leave for France. It has never failed me. Also, I have on my new Shu Uemura’s foundation. I’m getting my skin adjusted to this because I’m switching from M.A.C. to Shu Uemura. Am doing a review on it now.
