I received this delightful pink polish in my September 2012 Vanity Trove, together with some other makeup and skincare items. I was pretty excited about it because this is the first time I’m coming across Essie in real life. All of the other times, it was just me lemming over it after reading blogger reviews on the brand.
French Affair by Essie is a light pink with a lavender tinge. It’s definitely cool-toned; Nothing over the top but not too understated either. The shade is perfect for spring but I’d say it goes with every season since it’s so wearable. In the swatch above, I used two layers of it over my Scotch Naturals Top Coat (which I used as a base coat). The polish though, can tend to streak, so I’d recommend applying three thin layers instead of two. Under indoor lighting, the pink can look more saturated than it does under natural light.
Overall, I like this polish and will be wearing this pretty often from now. Am surely going to bring this with me to Paris this December!
What is your favourite Essie nail varnish shade so far?
