Sunday Dinner with Laura Mercier

by Roxanne C.

The title may be a little misleading; I didn’t actually meet Laura Mercier herself but had dinner instead with the lovely team of girls from the PR company working with Laura Mercier; several other beauty bloggers; and Michelle Draper, the global makeup artist for the brand. The dinner was a cozy event held at House, a resturant at Dempsey Road. The food was pretty good but I didn’t manage to finish my appetiser, the Macadamia Crusted Pumpkin Salad, even though it was yummy.

The HUGE starter. How do you eat rocket leaves without looking like a caveman?

The House Rib Eye Steak, done medium rare.

The sinfully awesome chocolate cake dessert. Chewy, melty, spongey and just the way I love it!

So now you see why I needed that ginger and peppermint tea. It was such a good way to spend Sunday evening! We went home with a goodie bag each filled with Laura Mercier goodness and so I’d like to share what I got.

My goodies! They are the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact SPF 20, Foundation Primer, Nail Lacquer and Invisible Loose Setting Powder.

The Laura Mercier Nail Laquer in Moderne Red.

The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact SPF 20 and Foundation Primer.

The Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact SPF 20 is currently out in stores in Laura Mercier counters in Singapore and costs S$71 each. There are 12 shades in all: Porcelain, Blush, Nude, Bisque, Sand, Fawn, Almond, Tawny, Caramel, Tan, Walnut and Mocha. In each compact is a sponge applicator so this makes touching up pretty convenient.

Together with these products, Laura Mercier has also launched the Crème Smooth Lip Colour and Tinted Moisturizers.

Some lipstick for you ma’am?

The Crème Smooth Lip Colour.

The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizers.

The Crème Smooth Lip Colours are fragrance-free and contain pure olive oil and vitamin E. There are 10 shades in all: Angelic, Pink Blush, Spiced Rose, Antique Pink, Crème Coral, Mango, Red Amour, Pêche, Dulce de Leche and Plum Orchid. The lipsticks can be found in all Laura Mercier stores as well, for S$38 a pop, which I find reasonable for a lippie. Meanwhile, the Tinted Moisturizer comes in 12 shades – the exact same ones as the Crème Compact – and is selling at S$68 for a 40ml tube.

Do you like what you see? What is your favourite Laura Mercier product?

I’ve been really hooked onto this song the past few days. Gorgeous girls, funky music, bright colours, happy mood… Listening to it makes me happy and makes me wanna dance!
