Review & Swatches: A Couple of Make Up For Ever Eyeshadows (Feel the Blues)

by Roxanne C.

Make Up For Ever Eyeshadows

Two pretty Make Up For Ever eyeshadows.

“I need the shade of blue that rips your heart out. You don’t see that type of blue around here.” – Cath Crowley, Graffiti Moon. Well, now you kind of do. I’ve had these two blues from eons ago and thought that I’d already done swatches of them on my blog but surprise, surprise! I can’t find them in my backlog. So here they are again, resurfaced only because I chanced upon them while tidying my makeup collection.

These Make Up For Ever eyeshadows are in 83 Turquoise Shimmer (lighter shade) and 167 Iridescent True Blue (darker shade). They are very pigmented and don’t need a wet brush to be applied with to achieve a high colour payoff. They complement each other well and have shimmery finishes. Let’s take a closer look!

Shade 83, the lighter shade, is a turquoise, very mermaid-y shade. I used it in my Blues of a Mermaid FOTD. Shade 167 is more of an electric royal blue. I haven’t used it much because this shade requires some colour matching to wear. Both are such happy, lively colours, it’s hard not to like them! They are available either online for US$20 at Sephora (83 Turquoise Shimmer HERE; 167 Iridescent True Blue HERE) or on the Make Up For Ever website itself.
