Collection Extreme Colour Lengthening Mascara in Blue

I can finally have blue lashes!

Hello again from one of the world’s fashion capital, Milan! I’ve been spending my past days here visiting tourist attractions and doing a whole lot of shopping, all the while chronicling my travels on my Instagram page. Do take a look and follow, if what you see pleases you so!

Today is my fifth day here in this lovely city, and because it’s raining, I’m staying indoors to do some blogging. I sure hope the cleaning lady doesn’t bombard me with requests to do housekeeping (you have no idea how nice Italians are). So let’s get down to business!

While I do make the effort to get dressed up and look put together when I explore the city, there’s one product that I really like because it doesn’t make me feel out of place but yet is vibrant enough to add colour to my life. It’s the Collection Extreme Colour Lengthening Mascara in Blue! Now, I’ve been wanting to try out blue or purple mascara for a long time but never quite got down to it – those YSL mascaras, though good in quality, are a bit too expensive for me. The kind PR folks at Collection sent me this and after trying it out a few times, I decided this would go in my travel bag.

The mascara comes in two shades, black and blue. For a girl who’s already found her Holy Grail mascara, of course you get the blue! On its own, the mascara doesn’t do much at all, so if you’re expecting crazy volumising and lengthening, you’ll be disappointed. However, the bright blue shade makes up for it.

See all that blue? It goes all onto my lashes.

A before-and-after comparison of my lashes.

After curling my lashes, I layer this mascara over my first 1-2 coats of Fairy Drops mascara. When applying coloured mascara, it’s good to bear in mind that the colour can seem duller if your lashes are dark or black to begin with, and that blue is the best colour for black eyes. On that note, the colour payoff of this mascara is excellent, as you can see in the swatch and comparison above!

The mascara is pretty affordable at less than S$20 per wand, and can be easily found at selected SaSa and Watsons stores in Singapore.
