Now take me away.

Hello mid-November! The more each day passes by, the more it’s time to sparkle. The year-end season is always my favourite time of the year because things start mellowing and everything just becomes more relaxed. This is how the entire year should be like!

I got my hands on this collection a day after my company’s disco themed dinner and dance (what a waste, I know) and immediately fell in love. It’s seriously got everything you need in it to sparkle and yet it’s not over the top. Before I dive into the review and let you in on how best to use this, might I just add this little message: Get it while you can!

The Laneige Sparkling Party 2014 Holiday Collection is a cute little box of 2 Water Drop lip tints, 2 glitter nail lacquers and a glitter eyeshadow duo.

The Laneige Sparkling Party box. It closes gently with a magnetic clasp.

When opened, it reveals the goodies inside, plus a tutorial on how you can achieve a day and night look. I love the rose gold foil!

The Glam Sparkling Look, which is what I call the night look. Get the collection to discover the other look you can create.

A closer look at the nail lacquers and eyeshadow duo. So festive!

And a swatch of the eyeshadow duo (shades Pink Dust and Gold Dust).

Some details of the product shades in this collection, and how I can best describe them:

Water Drop Lip Tints:

  1. Neon Pink
  2. Raspberry Pink

Nail Lacquer:

  1. Golden Bubble – gold shimmer with hot pink glitter bits
  2. Pink Wine – colourless with glitter bits in blue, green, gold and rose gold

Eyeshadow:

  1. Pink Dust – pink shimmer
  2. Gold Dust – gold flakes

My favourite of the lot has got to be the eyeshadow duo. Pink Dust is a faintly shimmery pink that works great on the lids as a base. Following that up with Gold Dust in the middle part of the eyelids really amps up the wow factor and instantly brightens up your eyes! I love how Gold Dust is actually huge gold flakes that stick onto the skin when you press it on with your fingers, so the sparkle is absolutely gorgeous. And the fall out is minimal.

After applying foundation, use your fourth finger to press on Pink Dust on the upper eyelid.

Next, using the same finger, press on Gold Dust only in the centre portion of the upper eyelid.

Line your eyes with either brown or black eyeliner, and then smudge it with a smudge brush. I’m using the Sigma Smudge E21 brush here.

Next, add mascara and fill in your brows. Complete the eye makeup and then add some colour to your lips! For a daytime look, Neon Pink is a great option.

Dab a little tint onto the middle part of both upper and lower lips, and then smudge your lips together to blend the colour outwards. Then add some gloss over the entire lips.

And there you have it! The complete look you can create in a few easy steps.

If you prefer – and this is what I do – you can even use the eyeshadow duo to create a smokey look by matching it with any of the darker eyeshadows that you already own. If you’ll like a tutorial on that, do let me know in the comments section below!
