The Guerlain 2014 Holiday Collection – Sparkle Away

Guerlain 2014 Holiday Collection

There’s something quite exotic about Guerlain, and I’m not sure if it’s got something to do with it’s very French name. Nevertheless, I’m very excited to show you all the Guerlain 2014 Holiday Collection!

This year’s beauty collection is inspired by l’Opéra à Paris, the place where spectacular shows steal the limelight, and where audiences remain in awe of talented actors, long after the plays have ended.

The eyeshadow duos, 11 Cygne Blanc (left) and 10 Cygne Noir (right), are inspired by the movie, Black Swan.

Beautiful nail lacquers, 400 Coque d’Or (left) and 901 l’Oiseau de Feu (right).

Everything is veiled in a layer of glamour. The nail lacquer in 901 l’Oiseau de Feu (“bird of fire” in English), has such pretty gold leaf pieces! It also works as a top coat or a finishing touch to the classic French manicure! Here it is, layered on top of my oxblood nail (a very nice combination, actually):

The collection also includes a very special palette, the Petrouchka Palette, which features 5 wearable eyeshadow shades, 2 blushes and 2 contouring shades. It comes bundled up in a red elastic bow, which you can also wear as a bracelet on your wrist, or as a hair tie. Here’s me with Jose Luis, the international makeup artist for Guerlain Paris, when he dropped by Singapore recently and did my makeup using shades from this palette:

If you’re a Météorites fan, you’ll love the limited edition Météorites Perles d’Étoiles, which is a more shimmery version of the normal Météorites. It’s perfect for intimate end-of-year dinners.

But the star of the party is the Coque d’Or, perfumed shimmer powder for body and hair. The bottle, shaped in a bow tie, gently puffs out shimmer when you press onto the bulb. Spritz this on your temples from the ends of your eyes for some mesmerising shine when you turn to the side. Coque d’Or is so lightly scented with its legendary chypre notes in a blend of rose, bergamot and patchouli, that only those closest to you will catch a whiff.

Slip confidently into your Little Black Dress, and walk on by.

Stay glamorous,
