Now who says you can’t wear a dress for a day at the beach? This outfit was put together with pieces from Aijek and Amado Gudek, which are currently exclusive brands on multi-label retailer SocietyA in Singapore.
SocietyA was set up just last year, in 2014, and features up-and-coming Asian designers, such as ti:baeg, Xoori (a personal favourite) and LIE. If you are looking for something that’s different from the ordinary and that can take you places, you won’t want to give SocietyA a miss. The greatest part is that for the next month starting today, you can get 20% off your total purchase when you shop on SocietyA, when you use code “ROXANNE20” at checkout. I don’t know about you, but 20% off anything with high quality is a great save.
And in case you missed it, here’s designer Kim Soo Rim talking about the challenges she faces when designing a collection:
Designer Kim Soo Rim also worked as a haute couture designer for Zuhair Murad in Paris in 2007. You can’t imagine what a pleasant surprise it was for me to find out about that! Zuhair Murad is my favourite designer in the world, and to think that my pick from SocietyA is somewhat associated with it. I just – I need to lie down for a minute.
You’ll be equally ecstatic to know that Xoori has a twice yearly Design Your Own Couture Look session with Kim Soo Rim, where you can have a say in the design of your own couture piece. The design to completion process usually takes about 4-6 weeks, and prices start from S$1500. You can find out more about this session by contacting SocietyA either on their website or via their Facebook page.
Going back to this outfit, the location for this shoot was at Geger Beach in Nusa Dua, Bali. If you are ever looking for a quick getaway from Singapore to a quiet, less crowded area that’s got an awesome beach – think clear waters, fine sand, blue skies and never-ending waves – then Nusa Dua might just be the place for you.
But I suppose the question of the day is: Would you wear lace to the beach?
