Wardrobe Revamp: Marie Kondo-ing my Makeup Drawer & Bedside Table

Remember when I talked about home projects you can embark on when staying in? I mentioned about how you could revamp your wardrobe, which is what I started doing some weeks ago.

As part of my wardrobe revamp, I decided it was finally time to deal with the white elephant in the room: my makeup drawer and bedside table. This table’s a simple white one from IKEA that we’d bought when we moved into our first apartment together, and it’s lasted till now, when we’re in our 3rd apartment.

Xavier takes the top drawer, while mine’s the one at the bottom because it has more space. My drawer stores mostly makeup and skincare items, but most of it must have expired by now and should really go.

I also rediscovered some gems, like my 3CE shimmer palette, MAC lipsticks, Dior blushes and eyeshadow palette, and Deborah Lippmann nail polishes. Things that I had to trash included hand creams (I’ve finally accepted that I never use them except in the winter), old nail polishes and a cream concealer palette. See all the “joy sparkers” in my video above.

I’ve been meaning to declutter this space for a while but was too lazy to. I finally moved my breast pump to the baby room. Not sure when I’ll use it again, but moving it away really signifies the end of a phase in my current motherhood journey. I think part of the reason it took me so long to put it away was me not wanting to face the fact that it’s time to move on.

Here’s to the ones that we got
Cheers to the wish you were here, but you’re not
‘Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
Of everything we’ve been through
Toast to the ones here today
Toast to the ones that we lost on the way
‘Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
And the memories bring back, memories bring back you

All right, I’d better not go down that lane.

Hopefully you’re inspired to declutter your own wardrobe, drawer or closet!
