All other accessories are from various sources. My necklace was a gift to myself in 2009 from Lee Hwa Jewellery. The earrings go a longer way back; I got them as my 21st birthday present from a group of girlfriends. The ear studs, I currently wear them all the time and they’re all from Helen, an accessories store in Singapore. Those pearlies in the hair bun were from H&M. I’m not sure if H&M still sells them, but I got them at S$6 for a pack of six twirlies. My bracelet was a Christmas present from the boyfriend 2 years ago. Like the necklace, I never take it off because it means so much to me.

I’m not really used to doing a FOTD entry with my hair up because it exposes my uneven hairline. But well, I thought I’d do something different and it actually did turn out quite OK. The trick to make this look work is to balance the bright lip colour with neutral, shimmery eye makeup; black liner; lashes and shimmer on the cheekbones. If you follow this rule, you can’t go wrong. I’m in love with the bright coral Julie Hewett lippie (also from Luxola) used for this look and it seems like I can’t find enough occasions to wear this colour to! Perhaps at more beauty events to come? The Bobbi Brown eyeshadow that I used as my eyebrow powder is now a staple and I love it a lot too!

I hope you all like this look! Do check out my other FOTDs and let me know in the comments section what other FOTD themes you’d like to see in Laced Ivory!
