caudalie premier cru the eye cream review

I got this eye cream because the Clinique All About Eyes wasn’t doing it for me. Yes, I’m getting old. Either that or I’m squinting a whole lot. The Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream has worked so far as a decent eye cream but I’m undecided about whether I’d get a new bottle once this one runs out.

First up, the eye cream has a thick, yellow consistency and I only need half a pump each time. The product contains silver, copper and pearly particles that instantly brighten up the under eye area when applied. The brand prides itself on the use of super-power antioxidants, which are none other than the polyphenols obtained from grapes. The other beneficial ingredients include grapevine resveratrol, which firms the skin; viniferine, which tackles dark spots; and tetrapeptides, which fight puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles (as seen on Sephora.com).

    Against animal testing, yay!

Caudalie is also against animal testing, which is another plus point for me! Whether this eye cream really works wonders for me, though, I can’t really say. That’s because I didn’t exactly have many problems related to the under eye area, such as puffiness and dark circles. However, the eye cream has definitely smoothened out the wrinkles around my eyes and brightened up the area. Both of these were my main concerns to begin with, so with respect to that, I’m pretty satisfied with the product. The cream has also helped to improve elasticity and the skin around my eyes doesn’t feel as thin or “flimsy” as before. There isn’t any scent and the cream has not given me any side effects, such as drying of the eyes or blurred vision. One bottle (15ml) lasts for months on end but each one costs USD95.

I do like the Premier Cru The Eye Cream overall. It’s a power-packed bottle that delivers its promises without the testing on mice. However, I feel that it does more than what I need at this moment (lots of benefits that I don’t get to enjoy) and the price makes me feel the dent it creates in my pockets. On the other hand, there’s no way I’m switching back to Clinique so unless I can find something cheaper that works just as well, I guess I’m sticking to this.
