It’s easy to see why any girl would fall head over heels with the MOR Lip Silk, no matter the flavour. There are currently five in all: Belladonna, Marshmallow, Blood Orange, Lychee Flower and Snow Gardenia. The one I own is Marshmallow, which I got from Luxola. The very first thing that caught my eye was, naturally, the oh-so-sweet packaging! The lip balm comes in an acrylic container slotted neatly into a tiny pink paper handbag with gold and black motifs. The unwrapping was such fun!

The MOR Lip Silk in Marshmallow contains a large proportion of beneficial ingredients such as castor seed oil, beeswax, coconut oil and vitamin E to help nourish and moisturise lips. Although it does not contain SPF, its light fragrance makes its a perfect evening or nighttime lip balm. According to the website, this is what it’s supposed to smell like:
“Marshmallow is collectively orchestrated with Vanilla Musk and Jasmine Flower that gloriously rapture in this pretty, feminine fragrance. Sugar dipped Rose petals with White Carnation and Cotton Candy play beautifully to create a deliciously sweet perfume.”
I dare say I can’t describe it better. It doesn’t stink of petroleum, unlike many other lip balm products, and it doesn’t dry the lips up when it evaporates, leaving behind a layer of dry, chapped skin. When applied, it leaves a pale sheen. The best part about this balm is that it isn’t tested on animals. Although it can be a tad expensive for a balm (S$22 on Luxola), the MOR Lip Silk makes for a great present for the little girl in us all.
