Haul, Swatch & Review: NYX’s Slim Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in 906 White

by Roxanne C.

This is a very recent haul of mine. Bought this off an online store for S$6.50 because I wanted to try doing the gyaru look. I’ve been hearing all these girls say that white eyeliner on your bottom waterline makes your eyes look bigger so I decided I would try it. I did try it and it really gives you ginormous eyes! But first, here’s just to show you the eyeliner and a swatch of it, plus a very short review.

NYX's Eye / Eyebrow Pencil in 906 White.

Swatch without flash.

The swatch above was done on my wrist under indoor lighting. The NYX Slim Eye/Eyebrow Pencil is a very basic crayon eyeliner that is rather easy to use. It’s definitely not waterproof because I had a bout of dry eyes and teared terribly, after which almost everything came off. Application was OK, nothing specifically good nor bad about it. It isn’t as pigmented as the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils but it’s good enough. If you’re a first timer, I recommend this (in other shades as well) because it’s cheap.

As for the look I did with this liner, I’ll do a separate entry on it. It’s been some time since I last did an FOTD entry but I’m really just waiting out for the day I get my DSLR (it won’t be long now) so that I can take quality pictures and videos! I give up on my Casio Exilim. It just doesn’t take the shots I need! But seriously, if you’ve yet to try the white eyeliner thing, try it! You’ll be nicely surprised like how I was!

oh thanks! what's the difference between this slim eye/eyebrow pencil and the slide-on pencil?

I've not tried the slide on pencils before but I'd say that those are creamier, more pigmented and glide on more smoothly onto skin. They have been compared to Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, so you can roughly gauge from there. The quality also seems to be good, based on reviews online, so I'd say go for those rather than the Slim Eye Pencils.

Hope this helps!
