Review: The Dior Instant Eye Makeup Remover (Duo Demaquillant Express Yeux)

by Roxanne C.

The Dior Instant Eye Makeup Remover is one of the new members on my bathroom counter, especially since I’ve finished the sample-sized bottle I got from a Dior counter a few months back. The main reasons I bought a full-sized one:

1) It’s fun to mix the two immiscible layers when I shake the bottle.

2) It works fast in removing even waterproof mascara.

3) It does not dry up my eyes, hurt them nor give me prolonged blurred vision after using it.

Remove all of these for me!

The blue layer is aqueous while the layer on top of it is pretty much an oil, making this remover an oil-based one (removes makeup effectively), which also includes the benefits of a water-based makeup remover (gentle). I love the packaging of the bottle, as its translucency makes it easy for us to tell when we’re running out of the cleanser. The makeup remover doesn’t leave behind quite an oily layer when used with a cotton pad (i.e. when I put some on a cotton pad and then use it to wipe away my makeup). However, I find it works much better and faster when I just apply the remover directly onto my eyes and rinse it off with water, or wipe it away with a cotton pad. This second method takes just seconds, probably half the time it takes for the conventional method. One downside is the chemical smell, which some people might not get used to.

Overall, I really like this makeup remover because it’s effective and doesn’t give any problems. Would I recommend it? Yes.

I am interested in trying this one out. How much is it? I hope it fits my budget for I know Dior products are kinda expensive.
