Feature and Personal Picks: The Body Shop Christmas 2015 Collection

The Body Shop Frosted Plum

Introducing the festive Frosted Plum range from The Body Shop.

I know it’s only the very beginning of November but Christmas has come early! Aren’t you in the mood yet? Come on, you’ve got to be.

I’m just really excited that beauty brands have started launching their Christmas collections and the one from The Body Shop is no exception. I first discovered The Body Shop while I was still in university but somewhere along the way, I kind of lost touch with the brand as I found out about other brands out there. I mean, hello Laneige, 3CE, Sleek, Sigma and Dior! I’m glad I got the chance to rediscover this brand after the long hiatus from it.

The Christmas 2015 Collection from The Body Shop is filled with goodies for you but today I’ll just share my favourites and recommendations from the brand. If you’ll like to check everything else out, do be sure to drop by a counter near you.

The Body Shop WHITE MUSK SMOKY ROSE EAU DE TOILETTE

The Body Shop White Musk Smoky Rose Eau de Toilette Gift Set.

Every year, during this season, The Body Shop launches seasonal fragrances that many people have grown to love. This year, apart from the Glazed Apple and Frosted Cranberry, they’re launching a new range known as Frosted Plum. Now I, am in love with the Frosted Plum Collection.

A quick look at the Frosted Plum Collection from The Body Shop.

Each fragrance range has products such as a Shimmer Lotion, Shower Gel and Body Butter but my personal favourite is the Sugar Scrub. The scrub comes in a round transparent plastic tub, so you can see the contents inside. Not only does the scrub smell delicious, it also leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. The scrubs are one size each of 250ml and are retailing in stores at S$36.90.

The Body Shop Frosted Plum Sugar Scrub

The Body Shop Frosted Plum Sugar Scrub – definitely my pick of the day.

Those pretty little purple cubes you see are the Frosted Plum Bath Fizzers. I suppose they might be like the Lush Cosmetics Bath Bombs, but I haven’t tried them yet because I don’t own a bathtub. That just means I’m bringing them with me on my travels.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea™ Ultimate Luxuries

Part of The Body Shop’s Fuji Green Tea™ Ultimate Luxuries Set.

I’m also smitten with the Fuji Green Tea Ultimate Luxuries Set, which includes a Body Wash, Body Sorbet, Body Lotion, Eau de Cologne, Body Butter and a cute smaller sized Body Scrub. This luxurious treat retails in stores at S$99.90 and I’m pretty sure it will be a nice surprise during gift unwrapping.

Now that we’ve touched base on my picks of the body-loving products, let’s move on to makeup.

The Body Shop Winter Trend 2015

It’s all about the makeup (for me at least).

This year, The Body Shop is launching a few limited edition Colour Crush Nail Polishes, a silver glitter eyeliner and a couple of shimmer powders amongst other products. But if you can only get one item, it has got to be the Grooving Gold Eyeshadow Palette.

The Body Shop Grooving Gold Eyeshadow Palette

My top pick from the collection: The Body Shop’s Grooving Gold Eyeshadow Palette.

The palette is one of the two launched by the brand this holiday season. It’s more plummy, coral shimmery purple and gold than bronzy and I love how the four shades complement one another well. There is an illustration at the bottom of the palette that teaches you how you can use the four shades together but I’m always about experimenting with techniques – I’m very sure you’ll be able to come up with something else that looks equally fabulous!

The eyeshadow shades don’t show up very well when applied with a normal eyeshadow brush, so I highly recommend using either a primer beforehand, a wet brush or the sponge applicator that comes with the palette. I don’t know the current price in stores, but I’m sure this will be snapped up quite quickly if you aren’t alert enough.

So there you have it, my top picks for this season’s holiday collection from The Body Shop. There are many other interesting items that will be up for grabs, including really cute owl sponge that you can hang on your dainty tree (and then use later on). In addition, The Body Shop is also collaborating with WaterAid, where a purchase of a specially selected gift will provide a family in Ethiopia with one day of safe drinking water.

The collection launches in a few days, and I hope this roundup has been useful to you. Look out for more holiday features coming up on the blog.

I’m so excited,

Roxanne
