I have been using false lashes for the longest time now, because honestly, no mascara can beat the effects of fake lashes. But lately, I’ve been toying with the idea of something more natural and closer to the lash line, such that my double lids can be shown, and such that I can have pretty lashes even if I’m just staying home. I’m also looking to have pretty lashes that will last a day at the beach in case I decide to go snorkelling.
The Maybelline The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara gave me this:
One swipe and you can tell that the mascara is obviously a fibre mascara. I LOVE fibre mascaras because they really work to lengthen lashes, keep curls in place and give enough volume. This mascara does all three. Although the curls don’t hold up 100% for the entire day, there is still probably 70% of it by the time I need to wash it off before bed.
Like fibre mascaras, the Maybelline The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara tends to be clumpy so you’ll need to use a lash comb or get rid of excess product on the sides of the tube before applying (which I didn’t do here because I got so excited about using it). It is a little harder than other mascaras to wash off with my Neutrogena Deep Clean Brightening Cleansing Oil, so I need to cleanse it twice. Because of this, the mascara loses to my ultimate all-time Holy Grail of all mascaras, the Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara Super Waterproof, which I included in my before & after review of 10 drugstore mascaras here.
The mascara is water-resistant and flakes a little when I intentionally put water on my eyes and give them a little rub. No inky mess, and the lashes stay curled. Would I wear this to the pool? Most likely, yes!
If you have a dedicated eye makeup remover, you might like to give this a go. I’ve yet to try this on with a lash primer, which I’ll be doing so and updating this post when that happens. My verdict? Definitely a mascara you should at least try out! You can buy it on Shopee here or on ULTA here.
