Dior’s released a new campaign for their Dior Addict Lipstick range and Kate Moss is fronting the ads. Take a look at the video below and tell me what you think!
I really love the setting for this ad. The hotel suite, the clothes, shoes and even the graphics at the beginning. However, I’ve never really liked Kate Moss and I’ve never understood why everyone loves her. To me, she’s just a model doing her job and I feel that her prominent features don’t really go with femininity if that’s what Dior’s looking to portray. I’d have preferred Dior to pick another model or actress for this campaign. Also, why is half of the video in black and white? How do we see the lipstick’s effect if it’s without colour?
Meh. Not sold on this one. Pass!

i actually think the ad did a great job to fulfill the creative brief of featuring an ico because kate is undeniably an icon in the fashion world, which is why she gets 'mobbed' by fans in a very realistic and behind the scenes paparazzi shots.The b/w effect was also another step to highlight the classic/iconic theme. its not entirely black and white so we still get to see the lipstick color.
i am more distracted by her weird eyeliner. and how much she looks like madonna.
love the ad but in the end, i still think these ads are just a huge waste of money because they are so ephemeral.
Alexis Cheong: It feels weird to copy and paste ur name in my response cos u are my bff but whatever! Hahaha! Yeah, I did get the whole "iconic" thingy going on but I still don't like Kate Moss! Ewwww eww eww eww eww. She looks like a man and I am haunted by her posters everywhere in France now, seriously.
And there are so many other people who can be considered icons, like Tyra Banks, the Olsen twins, SJP, Sienna Miller, Giselle Bundchen… why pick Kate Moss? She's not pretty either!
Maybe I'm just being biased. LOL.
