How Much is My Face Worth (Skincare)?

by Roxanne C.

A closer look at my favourite cleanser from Avène.

I’ve seen this tag here and there on the web and thought I’d do my own. The tags I’ve come across, however, only talk about makeup, so for variety’s sake, here’s one about skincare. So just how much is my face worth, in dollars? Let’s find out!

Where taking care of my skin is concerned, I have just one rule, and that is never to scrimp on skincare. If I find something that works for me, then nothing else matters. My skincare regimen for the day and night are almost the same, expect that for the nighttime, I cleanse with a makeup remover and apply an additional layer of serum.

I think it’s gonna be pretty high.

I’ve never calculated how much I spend on skincare alone so I hope I don’t get a scare by the end of this entry. Here’s a breakdown of the products and their prices (rounded off to the nearest dollar). I’m calculating as I go!

1) Avène’s Gentle Gel Cleanser – S$38

2) Clinelle’s Blemish Clear – S$18

3) Caudalie’s Premier Cru the Eye Cream – about S$140

4) Clinique’s Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief – about S$60

5) Shu Uemura’s Ultime8 Cleansing Oil (450ml) – S$170

6) Fancl’s Overnight Hydrating Pack – S$56

7) Skin Street’s Sonic Cleanse – S$98

Total: S$580

Wowza! I never knew my face was worth that much! Granted, I don’t spend this amount every month because most of the products last several months each. There was a nagging suspicion that the amount of money spent would be pretty high, sensing that I spend most of my jingles on stuff for my face as opposed to, say, shoes.

I’ll do another post on makeup soon. If you’re reading this and have yet to do this tag, do it and share your link in the comments section below!

Have you tried any of the items featured in this post? Which of them do you like or not like?
