Where Do We Go From Here?

We had Xavier’s family visiting over the weekend, so it was pretty busy around here! I woke up this morning at 5am because AurĂ©lie was crying out loud, presumably from her current teething phase. It was a tough couple of hours, but then I managed to catch a short break when the rest took over after that while I went back to crash in bed.

I managed to stay in bed for a short while after that, and randomly browsed through Bloglovin, which I’ve always been a part of but never really cared much to do anything about. I do follow some blogs on there, but then I saw a post by one of the bloggers I follow. She had posted a final blog entry in 2016, saying that she was leaving blogging after a good 8 years and that it was time for her to move on.

I clicked through to read her short post, and even though I don’t personally know her, I remember why I followed her back then. To see that she really ended her blogging journey was surprisingly heart wrenching for me.

It feels like something has died. And then I thought about my own blogging journey and how it has evolved over the years. I first started in 2008, so it’s been 12 long years.

What used to be an outlet for beauty blogging became something more serious for a while, turned into a lifestyle blog and vlog, and now it’s a mish-mash of sorts. Life happens. Other things took priority. I got writer’s block for the longest time. I re-evaluated my life.

And now I still can’t say what direction I want this blog to be. But I’m also 100% fine with that. I do want to blog more often because writing has always been a part of me and I am finally able to make time for it again. I don’t care if most people are on IG or Tik Tok. I’m here for the ones who, like me, also like to read and forge deeper, more meaningful connections.

So if you’re still around, thanks for being a part of my life, be it online or offline, or even if we don’t personally know each other. I’ll be dropping my next blog content this afternoon too. Who says Mondays have to always be bad?
