Like most of you, I’ve had to search for a new lip product the moment I had to leave the house with a mask on. As my lips are super sensitive, there are tons of good products out there that give me a bad reaction.
That’s why when my one and only Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick fell out in the Grab ride, I had to get one to replace it. And then I went to get another 2 more in different shades. (Check it out on Watsons Sg website here.)
This is going to be a short review, but for all of you who are still looking for a lip colour that will not budget at all, I highly, highly recommend this.
For a lipstick that calls itself “superstay,” this product:
- stays on all day, even through meals and coffee
- does not come off even slightly onto my mask at all
- smells fragrant
- comes in a tube with a reservoir tip applicator
- can be easily removed with oil makeup remover (I use the Neutrogena Deep Clean Brightening Cleansing Oil, which you can get on Amazon.sg here.)
- does not dry out my lips
- does not contain petrolatum
- does not bleed
- does not crack or seep into lines
- is super pigmented
- is great value for money
- comes in so many matte shades
Maybelline keeps introducing new shades and limited edition packaging for this product, which keeps all of us fans super excited. The three shades I have are 295 Dauntless, 10 Dreamer and 65 Seductress (from top to bottom in this blog entry’s first picture).
The trick to wearing this lipstick is to make sure that your lips don’t touch anything (not even water) in the first 30min or so after application, to give the lip colour enough time to dry and stay put. It might feel slightly sticky at first, but once it’s dry, you won’t even remember it’s there.
To prevent picking up too much product at once, swipe excess lipstick off from one side of the reservoir tip applicator before you apply it.
My daily makeup look now consists of this lipstick, as well as my latest Natasha Denona Camel Eyeshadow Palette (which was in my wish list blog entry here).
I hope you found this review helpful. Have a fun time checking out all the swatches online!
